A week before Thanksgiving every year, millions of smokers commit to a longer, healthier future by kicking their tobacco addiction. The Great American Smokeout urges people to stay smoke-free for a day, perhaps forever. Health benefits for ex-smokers and those around them are immense.
The habit is hard to break but not impossible. Forty-six million
Americans smoke. Make the commitment to be one less by Nov. 17. Talk to your
doctor for help and resources to quit smoking.
