20% of Health Care Dollars Spent on 1% of Americans

A new Statistical Brief by the federal Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality revealed that 20 percent of all health care dollars are spent on just 1 percent of the U.S. population, reports HealthLeaders Media.

Not surprisingly, the brief reports that individuals without insurance spent significantly less on health care than their counterparts with insurance. Additionally, seniors were more likely to spend more money on health care than any other demographic, and Americans aged 45-65 were also likely to be in categories of high health care spending.
