Still Think It’s OK to Text And Drive? Then Watch This

“Please don’t ever text and drive. It’s life. You get one chance, and you live with the choices you make.”

That’s the message Chandler Gerber tells viewers in a powerful documentary by German film maker Werner Herzog. Last year, while texting “I love you” to his wife, Mr. Gerber crashed his car into a horse and buggy, killing three Amish children aged 17, 5, and 3. “I jumped out of the van. … I looked in the ditch, and there was bodies just laying there,” he said.

The documentary, produced by AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile, follows four accidents caused by a driver who was texting, two of which resulted in the deaths of multiple people. The message is clear: Texting can wait.

“Knowing every day that you killed two people is one of the hardest things that you could live with,” said Reggie Shaw, whose texting caused the death of two men and injured another man. Watch the video and then take the pledge to never text and drive.
