Immunization Registries Protect Texans
Fort Worth infectious disease specialist Donald Murphey, MD, testified Monday before the House Public Health Committee on the importance of Texas’ immunization registry (ImmTrac). ImmTrac helps patients and their doctors keep track of the patient’s immunizations. Dr. Murphey testified in support of a more complete registry for both children and adults so that physicians and public health officials can use the information to be more proactive in supporting vaccination and to manage infectious disease outbreaks in Texas communities.
